The most important aspect of the voyage is the research, sampling and data gathered. The reports developed off the back of this research based investigative documentary will provide valuable insight into the state of our seas to an international audience. In order to successfully complete our mission objectives we will partner with marine conservation organisations, scientists, engineers, government, local council and international conservation leaders to understand the problems our oceans face and the solutions to these.


We have all the tools, technology and knowledge we need to be able to solve the greatest environmental challenges we face, but oftentimes the missing piece is connecting the right people to each other and to current research data. If you would like to become a conservation partner for the expedition and support with marine conservation information, event organisation, research or campaigns we would love to speak further with you.



The expedition is looking to team up with conservation organisations – whether national, international or local to counties – to support the research and mission objectives. The ‘Research’ page on this website lists some of the issues Ness and her team will look into in partnership with these organisations and charities. One critical aspect of partnering up with conservation minds is ensuring there are tangible outcomes and changes that are implemented of the back of research done, as we all know that if the public don’t know about something then they cannot become a part of the solution.


The conservation partnerships we lock in will share access and visibility form press and media throughout the expedition and for many months and years after it is completed, creating ongoing ripples of positive change for our marine life.



Educating and informing the public and our youth (the future guardians for Planet Earth) is mission critical. Throughout the expedition and well after is has been completed Ness and her team will invest in the creation of educational assets, events and campaigns that draw on the public to be changemakers for the health of our marine life. Education is the foundation block on which Ness believes we can turn the tide on the vulnerable state of our marine life globally. We have to invest in the buy-in of consumers and government to become champions for our planet’s, insuring it not only survives the damage done, but ultimates thrives once again.


The expedition will leverage media, film and press to access as large an audience as possible. We plan to work with schools, businesses, conservation charities and youth organisations to make this mission a resounding, long-term success.



Our goal as an expedition team is first and foremost to understand the extent of the issues via sampling, interviews and exploration of what is happening on the ground (and in our seas). The only way to be effective with our reporting and data is to collaborate with experts who have spent years in the field specialising on the topics being researched. We are looking to partner with entities that can support us with field research, real-time imagery from space (to understand the likes of ‘Dead Zones’ in our waters), historical data and sourcing solutions. The research we conduct must be effective in taking on the role of catalyst for inspiring and kick-starting work towards future solutions and fixes to the problems we face.


This is not just an investigation, this is a mission to effect change both locally and globally, involving marine biology experts, government policy makers and the public at large. We all play a role, but we need sound research to base our solutions off of.
